Durango Nursery & Supply

Durango Nursery & Supply provides the community with quality landscape plants and materials need in all areas of residential and commercial land development. They supply native and xeric plants as well a wide range of bulk materials such as mulch, stone, gravel, etc. DNS offers a 10% discount on plant materials to DBG members.

High Plains Nursery
High Plains Nursery, Inc. was started in 2000 by Larry Sprague, a Midwest grower, who seized the opportunity to create a growing nursery in southern Colorado, when he found the perfect acreage in the fertile San Juan River Valley.

Passion Flower Farm
Offering bouquets and bundles—all locally grown. Hand selected, long lasting, masses of colorful flowers and greens assembled in a stylistic vase for your home or business. If you want a particular color or flower, contact Lisa Bourey and talk more specifically about what is in season. Seasonal Farm Flowers available May-Oct, depending on weather. Offers a 10% discount to DBG members on most arrangements.

San Juan Nurseries
San Juan Nurseries, in business since 1952, is a full-service garden center where honesty, integrity, and quality will never be compromised. San Juan Nurseries offers a 10% discount to Durango Botanic Garden members on plant materials.

American Public Gardens Association
The American Public Gardens Association is the leading professional organization for the field of public horticulture, advancing the field by encouraging best practices, offering educational and networking opportunities, and advocating on behalf of  members, programs and public gardens worldwide.

American Horticultural Society
American Horticultural Society. Founded in 1922, the American Horticultural Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to sharing with all Americans the critical role of plants, gardens, and green spaces in creating healthy, livable communities. As a member of the Durango Botanic Gardens, you can participate in the AHS Reciprocal Admissions Program which entitles you to visit any of the AHS member gardens at free or discounted admission fees.

City of Durango
Thanks to the support of Durango City Council and the Citizens of Durango, the City has been recognized as a Tree City USA since 1980 and through working with the Public Works Department to minimize the damage to trees during construction projects, landscape review with the Planning & Community Development Department, and the Christmas Tree Recycling Programs, the City of Durango also has received the Growth Award since 1993.

Colorado Garden Foundation
Colorado Garden Foundation awards grants to organizations and scholarships to individuals throughout Colorado. In the past 62 years, organizations throughout Colorado have received grants totaling more than $10 million from Colorado Garden Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to furthering the horticultural industry. Durango Botanic Gardens have been the beneficiary of this grant program.

Colorado State University, La Plata County Extension
The mission of the La Plata County Extension is to provide information and education and to encourage the application of research-based knowledge in response to local, state and national issues affecting individuals, youth, family, businesses, agricultural enterprises and communities of Colorado. They produce a large number of seminars, workshops, and lectures that can benefit your garden and enhance your gardening knowledge.

North American Rock Garden Society
The North American Rock Garden Society is a society founded to promote rock gardening in North America. The society has 40 chapters across the United States and Canada. The society was founded on March 21, 1934 during a New York City gathering of more than 250 rock garden enthusiasts.

Plant Select®
Plant Select® is a nonprofit collaboration of Colorado State University, Denver Botanic Gardens and professional horticulturists whose mission is to seek out and distribute the very best plants for landscapes and gardens from the intermountain regions to the high plains and beyond. Durango Botanic Gardens (DBG) is proud to be a Plant Select® Demonstration Garden. In 2015, DBG won Plant Select’s Golden Shovel Award recognizing excellence in Demonstration Garden design.

Our Location:

The Durango Botanic Gardens are physically located at the Durango Public Library, to the north and east of the library.  The library is located at 1900 E. 3rd Ave., Durango.

There is no admission charge.  Stroll the gardens yourself (there is ample signage in most gardens) or call us at 970-880-4841 to arrange a group tour. See our Information Tab for more.
