American Horticultural Society
Founded in 1922, the American Horticultural Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to sharing with all Americans the critical role of plants, gardens, and green spaces in creating healthy, livable communities. As a member of the Durango Botanic Gardens, you can participate in the AHS Reciprocal Garden Network which entitles you to visit any of the AHS member gardens at free or discounted admission fees when presenting your DBG membership card.

The City has made numerous grants to the Durango Botanic Gardens and has been a valued partner in a number of projects.  The City has been recognized as a Tree City USA and since 1980 and has received the Growth Award since 1993.  For more on its urban forest program: 

Colorado Garden Foundation
Colorado Garden Foundation awards grants to organizations and scholarships to individuals throughout Colorado. In the past 62 years, organizations throughout Colorado have received grants totaling more than $10 million from Colorado Garden Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to furthering the horticultural industry. Durango Botanic Gardens has been the beneficiary of this grant program.

The North American Rock Garden Society is a society founded to promote rock gardening in North America. The society has 40 chapters across the United States and Canada. The society was founded on March 21, 1934 during a New York City gathering of more than 250 rock garden enthusiasts.

Our Location:

The Durango Botanic Gardens are physically located at the Durango Public Library, to the north and east of the library.  The library is located at 1900 E. 3rd Ave., Durango.

There is no admission charge.  Stroll the gardens yourself (there is ample signage in most gardens) or call us at 970-880-4841 to arrange a group tour. See our Information Tab for more.
