Adaptation, Assisted Migration, ‘Spontaneous’ Plants Highlight DurangoScape 2025 Conference

Plants and trees are not ideological; they don’t debate or ponder the existence of climate change. Functioning at the cellular level, they simply react to the stresses of a steadily warming, drier climate by changing or, in some cases, migrating to more hospitable growing zones. That was one of the key takeaways from the most recent Envisioning a Changing DurangoScape Conference, March 21 and 22. Considering how our region is and will continue to adapt to climate change, the fifth edition of this popular conference series broke new registration records with 172 registrants.
