The first workshop was a tremendous success and sold out. DBS is offering this second workshop so that students can have the basic skills to attend  future classes.

 You will learn about the Botanical Illustration Certification Program and class schedule.

This is a well established tradition of portraying plants for scientific purposes, recording vanishing species or rendering the beauty and inspiration we experience from nature and the gardens around us. The class  is designed for all skill levels. Nature and garden journaling classes this summer.

Learn the history, drawing tools and techniques. Several exercises will enhance your skills of careful observation to produce realistic drawings. Learn Barbara’s proven methods and produce drawings that look amazing! After this workshop you will want to register for future classes! Supplies are provided .You can bring your own eraser and pencils.

Class proceeds are used for the ongoing maintenance of the Library Demonstration Garden. Join the Durango Botanical Society and get reduced fees for their events and classes

Our Location:

The Durango Botanic Gardens are physically located at the Durango Public Library, to the north and east of the library.  The library is located at 1900 E. 3rd Ave., Durango.

There is no admission charge.  Stroll the gardens yourself (there is ample signage in most gardens) or call us at 970-880-4841 to arrange a group tour. See the About Us Tab for more.
