2013 Annual Field Trip

Go West

A Horticultural Tour of Montezuma County

Led by Lisa Bourey

The Durango Botanical Society  is excited to introduce to you our annual field trip that will offer numerous educational opportunities and some good ol’ fashion fun and romance. This year we decided to stay closer to home. We will zoom in on our neighbors to the west and explore a community that geographically is so close, but environmentally and horticulturally, is so different. A short drive westward takes us to Montezuma County, an area steeped in agricultural history and diversity. In addition to the desert-like canyons, open fields, and antique apple orchards, this area also has been quite progressive, which we Durangoans should take note of. This tour is up close and personal.
