 The Art

of Graft!

Madoff tried it and went to prison!

In Medieval Europe theologians proclaimed it a sin!

Join Colorado Certified Nursery Professional Jeff Wagner at Durango Nursery and Supply to learn the basics of summer   grafting. This class is a follow up to the Spring Propagation Class and a prelude to our Winter Bench Grafting Class.

Chip budding is the technique students will practice and learn. It is an easy and effective technique that is used in nurseries and in orchards all over the world to propagate ornamental and fruit trees. Learn the basics of summer grafting, propagate your own tree, learn how to rework existing trees in your garden or make your own family tree with several varieties. We will have stock from great apples of the past that you cannot buy anywhere but that you can grow in your own yard. We will also have stock of beautiful and hard to find ornamental crab apples. You can use these or any of your own favorites for this class.

Students will work exclusively with apple varieties- rate and interesting ornamental and fruiting varieties will both be supplied, as well as rootstocks. Students may also use apple stock from trees that they would like to propagate . All supplies and tools will be provided and each student will leave the class with three of their own trees.

Space is limited so register now to ensure your opportunity to learn these important propagation techniques.
